ESL FACEIT Group launches first-ever esports vertical livestream developed with TikTok to connect with a new generation of fans

Atlanta, Georgia, 20 May 2026 – ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), the global powerhouse in esports and video game entertainment, has joined forces with TikTok, the world’s leading platform for short-form mobile video, to introduce a new era of esports broadcasting through native vertical livestreams designed specifically for mobile audiences.

The collaboration made its debut at Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) Atlanta, becoming the first EFG tournament to be broadcast live in a fully optimised vertical format. As part of the agreement, TikTok will support the rollout of vertical livestreaming across major EFG events, including IEM, the longest-running esports tournament series in the world. The launch represents the opening chapter of EFG’s broader strategy to evolve esports distribution and meet audiences wherever they choose to watch.

The initiative arrives at a time when viewing habits are increasingly divided between two dominant trends. On one hand, audiences continue to embrace big-screen viewing, with streaming now accounting for 41% of all television viewing time*. On the other, mobile consumption continues to surge, with smartphones responsible for 56% of global esports viewership**. Through this partnership, EFG aims to strengthen its ability to serve both audiences without compromise.

The collaboration also highlights TikTok’s growing influence within gaming culture and among younger generations. With 56% of Gen Z users engaging with the platform daily*** and millions of esports fans already interacting through clips, creators, livestreams, and gaming communities, TikTok has become a major destination for gaming content. By bringing EFG’s premium esports broadcasts directly into this ecosystem, the partnership opens new pathways for fans to discover, follow, and participate in live esports experiences.

Rather than simply adapting a traditional broadcast to fit a smartphone screen, EFG has built its vertical stream product from the ground up for mobile viewing. Custom graphics, redesigned overlays, and mobile-first presentation elements have been specifically developed to maximise the viewing experience in a vertical format. Through TikTok, audiences can now access live matches, key moments, and behind-the-scenes content tailored to the way they naturally consume media on mobile devices.

As part of the agreement, TikTok will also provide access to promotional tools and its extensive gaming creator network. This will create opportunities for co-streaming, creator-driven coverage, community-focused activations, and new forms of interaction surrounding EFG’s global events.

While the partnership officially launched with Counter-Strike coverage at IEM Atlanta, both organisations plan to explore opportunities to extend the collaboration across additional esports titles, tournaments, content formats, and product innovations in the future.

“Partnering with TikTok marks an important step in how we evolve esports broadcasting. With the launch at IEM Atlanta last weekend, we introduced a purpose-built vertical viewing experience designed for mobile audiences, while continuing to expand how fans discover and engage with our tournaments,” said Steve Ford, SVP Advertising and Distribution at ESL FACEIT Group.

“With the new TikTok for Gaming platform, we’re accelerating how the world’s best gaming content partners engage their audiences. ESL FACEIT Group embodies that vision—bringing live esports into a format our community genuinely loves, with the interactive engagement that unites content creators, players, and fans in one place,” said Langer Lee, Head of Global Operations at TikTok Gaming.

ESL FACEIT Group and Automobili Lamborghini announce long-term partnership for DreamHack gaming festivals

London, May 12th, 2026 – ESL FACEIT Group (EFG), a global leader in esports and interactive gaming entertainment, and Automobili Lamborghini, the legendary Italian supercar manufacturer, have unveiled a long-term strategic partnership designed to deepen the intersection between high-performance automotive culture and global gaming communities.

Under the agreement, Automobili Lamborghini becomes the Official Automotive Partner of DreamHack festivals across the United States and Europe. The collaboration will expand the brand’s footprint across EFG’s international event portfolio through prominent on-site integrations, immersive fan experiences, and premium vehicle showcases on festival floors.

The partnership builds on Lamborghini’s successful appearances at DreamHack Dallas and Stockholm in 2025, where the brand introduced gaming audiences to a series of experiential activations designed to merge automotive design, digital culture, and interactive entertainment. Highlights included the debut of Vesaro x Automobili Lamborghini racing simulators and the Lamborghini Revuelto—the brand’s first High Performance Electrified Vehicle—presented in a bespoke festival-themed livery.

These activations resonated strongly with DreamHack’s highly engaged community, known for its appetite for innovation, technology, and high-performance experiences. Following that response, the collaboration now enters a long-term phase, with Lamborghini set to play a more prominent role across EFG events through 2028.

At DreamHack Atlanta, taking place May 15–17, Lamborghini will bring its presence to life through a series of on-site activations. Two Lamborghini Temerario models, each wrapped in custom gaming-inspired designs—the Temerario Play Louder Livery and the Temerario Fast Forworld Fortnite-themed livery—will travel through Atlanta ahead of the festival before arriving at the venue. Once onsite, both vehicles will be displayed in the Creator Hub, offering fans an up-close experience with the supercars.

The brand will also feature in DreamHack Atlanta’s sim racing competitions, alongside additional interactive activations designed to extend engagement throughout the festival weekend.

The partnership reflects Lamborghini’s broader strategy to expand into digital culture and connect with younger audiences through shared values of design, performance, and immersive experience. By entering the gaming festival space, the brand positions itself directly in front of Gen Z and Gen Alpha communities—audiences that are increasingly shaping cultural trends but are often difficult to reach through traditional marketing channels.

Through DreamHack, Lamborghini extends its identity into one of the world’s largest gaming festival ecosystems, blending physical automotive presence with digital-native experiences to create a seamless bridge between real-world and virtual engagement.

Looking ahead, ESL FACEIT Group and Lamborghini intend to further expand the partnership with new activations, experiential formats, and collaborative projects across future DreamHack events and beyond.

“Building on the success of DreamHack Dallas and Stockholm, we are excited to extend our partnership with Lamborghini into a long-term agreement. Lamborghini is not just a partner, but a key enabler in elevating the experience for fans, players and creators through innovation and premium integration. Together, we are raising the bar for how brands can authentically connect with next-generation audiences,” said Daniel Mauritz, SVP Brand Partnerships at ESL FACEIT Group.

“We are proud to become the main automotive partner of this event, marking an important step in bringing Lamborghini closer to new generations,” said Christian Mastro, Marketing Director at Automobili Lamborghini. “Through gaming and digital ecosystems, we aim to translate the Lamborghini dream into immersive experiences for a passionate and dynamic audience. Our iconic design language strongly resonates with younger generations, who see the brand as an expression of aspiration and identity. With this partnership, we aim to let fans experience Lamborghini in a more meaningful and engaging way.”

Team Vitality dominate IEM Rio 2026 to secure historic back-to-back ESL Grand Slam titles

Sunday, April 19, 2026, Rio de Janeiro: Intel® Extreme Masters (IEM) Rio 2026 concluded in dramatic fashion as Team Vitality lifted the trophy and carved their place into Counter-Strike history. After a commanding 3–0 victory over Team Spirit in the Grand Final, Vitality became the first roster ever to win consecutive ESL Grand Slam (EGS) titles. The achievement not only confirms their sustained dominance at the highest level but also earns the team an additional $1,000,000 bonus for completing their second Grand Slam in record time.

In the process, Robin “ropz” Kool set a new individual milestone, becoming the first player in history to claim three ESL Grand Slam titles. He surpasses Russel “Twistzz” Van Dulken, who previously shared the record with two titles.

Returning to South America for the first time in two years, IEM Rio 2026 transformed the Farmasi Arena into a sold-out stage for elite Counter-Strike. A total of 26,000 fans attended across the event, with supporters travelling from across Brazil and beyond. As Team Vitality hoisted the trophy, they also secured the largest share of the $1,000,000 prize pool. The event reached a peak online audience of more than 1.1 million viewers worldwide, underscoring its global reach.

Group Stage

The tournament began on April 13, featuring 16 of the world’s top Counter-Strike 2 (CS2) teams battling over three days of high-intensity competition. With only six playoff spots available, pressure mounted quickly—especially for Brazilian teams FURIA, Legacy, and RED Canids, who aimed to perform in front of a passionate home crowd.

Team Falcons and FURIA emerged as early standouts, each delivering dominant 3–0 runs to secure direct entry into the semifinals. Behind them, Team Vitality and MOUZ progressed to the quarterfinals with strong 2–1 records. Completing the playoff lineup, Natus Vincere and Team Spirit fought through the lower bracket to secure their places in the final stage.

Playoffs

From April 17 to 19, the playoff stage brought the tournament to its peak inside a charged live arena atmosphere. Team Spirit opened strongly, eliminating MOUZ 2–0 with authority. In the following quarterfinal, Team Vitality—fresh off their IEM Kraków 2026 victory—defeated Natus Vincere 2–0, eliminating the 2024 IEM Rio champions and advancing to the semifinals.

The semifinals delivered two high-stakes clashes. Team Spirit continued their dominant run by defeating Team Falcons 2–0 to book the first Grand Final spot. On the other side of the bracket, Team Vitality overcame local favourites FURIA 2–0, silencing the home crowd and securing the final berth.

Before the championship match, Team Falcons claimed third place with a win over FURIA in the placement match.

Grand Final

On April 19, the Farmasi Arena reached full intensity as fans gathered for a Grand Final that reignited one of Counter-Strike’s modern rivalries: Team Vitality versus Team Spirit. Their previous major meeting at IEM Katowice 2025 had ended in Vitality denying Spirit another title, adding extra weight to the rematch.

The series opened on Mirage, where Team Spirit struck first, but Vitality clawed back into control, forcing overtime before edging the map 16:13. On Nuke, Spirit again started stronger, yet Vitality mounted a composed comeback to secure a 13:10 win. With momentum fully on their side, Vitality closed the series on Dust2 in commanding fashion, 13:5, sealing a 3–0 sweep and the IEM Rio 2026 championship.

The victory marks an unprecedented moment in Counter-Strike history: the first back-to-back ESL Grand Slam titles ever achieved by a single team.

“I think we’re the only lineup to ever win two ESL Grand Slams. […] We enjoy so much what we’re doing and know how lucky we are to have this team. We understand each other so well, we work so well, and it’s unbelievable. For me, the ESL Grand Slam is harder to win than a Major, so there is no doubt that we are the best team in history right now,” said Dan “apEX” Madesclaire.

Following Vitality’s landmark triumph, attention now shifts to the start of ESL Grand Slam VII, beginning at IEM Atlanta on May 11–17. The new season will once again see the world’s top Counter-Strike 2 teams competing for gold bars, a $1,000,000 bonus, and a permanent place in esports history.

The Grand Slam is awarded to the first team to win three ESL Pro Tour Masters events and one ESL Pro Tour Championship event (Kraków, Cologne, or an ESL-operated CS2 Major) within a rolling cycle of ten events.

FACEIT is excited to announce a partnership with Sky Sports to broadcast the final matches from the UK’s first CS:GO Major. Top teams from around the world will compete for a share of the US$1,000,000 prize pool in the biggest esports event to take place in the UK to date. The partnership marks the first time Sky Sports has ever broadcast competitive CS:GO, and reflects the profile of the prestigious FACEIT London Major.

Content will include an exclusive one hour documentary outlining the road to the Major and the live broadcast of the finals on skysports.com, and Sky Sports’ YouTube and Facebook channels, from the 20th to 23rd September.  A “highlights” programme capturing the most exciting plays from the finals will also air after the event at 11pm on Sky Two.

The partnership comes after the Minors and Challengers stages of the tournament which both saw unprecedented viewing figures on Twitch and YouTube. Average viewers and hours watched were more than triple that of the last two EU Minors. The recent Challengers Stage also saw record breaking viewership, with over 20M hours watched and 500k peak concurrent views. The sold out finals take place at the SSE Arena, Wembley and will welcome 10,000 spectators to the arena for each of the tournament’s four days of playoffs and the grand final.

“Bringing the FACEIT London Major to an entirely new audience is extremely exciting for us,” said Michele Attisani, CBO & Co-Founder of FACEIT. “We have been working closely with the team at Sky to ensure all of their content is both accessible and entertaining. It’s essential we strike that balance between offering enough CS:GO information to ensure viewers understand what’s going on, whilst maintaining the entertainment value that keeps fans absorbed.”

Georgie Faulkner, Sky Sports’ Head of Multi Sports, said: “FACEIT Major is one of the world’s biggest esports events, and we’re delighted to be able to bring the London finals to a whole new audience. We’re no stranger to world of esports, but this is the first time we have broadcast competitive CS:GO and we can’t wait to get started.
